Find and circle a given letter. A great way to help children remember their letters! After all the letters have been found and circled you can make it into an interactive game by asking the child to turn away while you write another letter on the sheet. Ask the child to turn back and find and circle the extra letter. Once that's done, you need to turn away so the child can write and hide a letter for you. A great fun way to add writing practice!

Phonics Phase 2 Flashcards- Make your own- Personalise Learning
When learning the letter sounds it is very important that children are provided with a sound mat that can support them when it comes to writing. It is one thing to recognise a letter when shown one and it is another to recall what that letter looks like when it's needed for writing. Having a sound mat gives a helping help for children. Every sound is supported by a picture to enable easier identification. Bright colours and fun images! Enjoy ;)
This pirate themed writing sheet is my second most popular item! This writing sheet supports the children by providing three sections for the beginning, the middle and the end of their story. This helps them greatly in retelling their favourite pirate story!
'Oh no! This pirate ship sunk and broke into pieces! Children come and help the poor pirates by fixing their ship!' ;) Something like that :) Cut out the pieces and stick them together on the sea. When using this activity remember to print out the picture of the completed ship for guidance.
Let the children colour the pirates then they can write a few sentences describing them. This works best after they've had a lot of input on labelling and are more familiar with knowing what to look at when wanting to describe something.
Creating a wanted poster during your pirate themed week (or term!) is a must. I've used this pirate poster in my starter activity and asked for the help of a child to poke his face through it with the rest of the class helping me label this wanted man. It kept the children engaged and motivated to create their own wanted posters.
Decorate your classroom with this pirates themed number bunting. Peg them onto a washing line in the wrong order and get your children to order them for you. That's one early learning goal catered for!
